In a proactive attitude, Visabeira Group and all its companies have always maintained a continued attitude of sustained support to relevant initiatives in the field of social responsibility and sustainability. Initiatives in this direction have been abundant and varied, many of them supported by important partners.

Quality, Environment and Safety

Environment, quality and occupational health and safety represent one of the main pillars of the Group’s management. Labour practices are in line with legislation in Portugal and all countries where Visabeira operates. The Group also complies with the fundamental principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO). At Visabeira, the focus goes far beyond the products and services offered to encompass the well-being of workers, who enjoy good working conditions in a safe and dignified environment, in a professional growth atmosphere.
In environmental terms, companies are committed to ecologically sustainable production, distribution and energy consumption measures, several of which have been awarded certification by the ISO14001 international standard, with a view to implementing, maintaining and improving an environmental management system, ensuring compliance with International policy.

In line with these strategic guidelines, in late 2012 Visabeira Group became an active member of the United Nations Global Compact, committed to supporting the Ten Principles of the Global Compact, related to Human Rights, Labour Rights, Environment Protection and Fighting Corruption in all its forms.

Actions and initiatives

Over the years, the group has had a transversal, concerted action in this area, either through the organization and promotion of events, material and logistic support or, though Visabeira Foundation, the management of equipments such as nurseries Infantinhos da Vilabeira and Infantinhos da Quinta do Bosque, which give support to young families of Group employees and other people in the area.
